Gastonia police are trying to determine what happened inside a Betty Street apartment overnight before a man was shot in the neck.
Two people are being questioned this morning, police say.
Authorities say they were called about 1 a.m. to deal with a domestic problem at an apartment in the 600 block of Betty Street. When officers arrived, they heard gunshots.
Inside, police found Marquis Stevenson, 22, of Gastonia, had been shot in the neck. Police say Stevenson was taken to Gaston Memorial Hospital, then airlifted to Carolinas Medical Center.
Detectives are interviewing several people this morning, police say. No charges have been filed.
