CHARLOTTE - A fight between two Charlotte-Mecklenburg police officers has gotten one officer suspended and another recommended for termination.
Sources say officers Mark Click and John Major got into a fist fight a month ago.
According to a statement from the Charlotte-Mecklenburg Police Department, no other member of the community was involved.
Sources also told NewsChannel 36 that five months before the fight, Click allegedly pointed his firearm at Major, but the intent was supposedly not to intimidate or threaten.
Late Thursday afternoon NewsChannel 36 spoke with Click on the phone and asked if he had pointed a gun at another officer. He declined to comment, saying, "Give you something at another time."
Sources say the gun incident became sort of a "he said, he said" type of situation. Other officers who were there denied seeing anything.
Because of the fight, Major was suspended for 10 days and Click was cited for termination.
Click said he intends to fight for his job and make his case before the Civil Service Board.
