OBSERVATIONS | RICK BONNELL

• Coach Sam Vincent is hinting that this latest concussion for Bobcats forward Gerald Wallace might be a signal to cut back his time at power forward.

"If you're playing the 4(power forward), you're going to get hit,'' Vincent said. "So we may keep him down on the 3 (small forward) more.''

That's wise, as far as protecting the health of Wallace, expected to play again during next week's Texas trip.

The roster-management trick will be figuring out how to feature Wallace without gutting rookie Jared Dudley's minutes, since he's been so productive of late.

• Today could be a huge for the Hawks, trying to grab that last playoff spot in the East.

First, they'll replay the final 51.9 seconds of a protested game against the Miami Heat earlier this season. Then they'll play a regularly-scheduled game against Miami.

The scorer's table in Atlanta incorrectly charged then-Heat center Shaquille O'Neal with a sixth foul, disqualifying him.
